The Water Truck Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining dust control across various sites, including access roads, equipment haul roads, and public dumping areas. This position requires the operator to efficiently and safely operate a water truck, ensuring that all designated areas are kept free from excessive dust, which is essential for both environmental and safety reasons. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining dust control during green waste grinding and construction and demolition processing activities. In addition to dust control, the Water Truck Operator will manage leachate tank and sump pump levels, ensuring that these systems function properly. The operator will also be tasked with watering and compacting freshly placed dirt, as well as placing water in excavation areas to maintain moisture levels and control dust. The role includes the responsibility of picking up illegally dumped materials and waste both on and off-site, as well as collecting e-waste from the tipping table and delivering it to the designated e-waste storage area. The operator may also be required to make repairs to fences, flumes, and drainage systems as needed. This position may involve working overtime, and the operator will perform other duties as assigned by the direct Operations Supervisor. The Water Truck Operator must be prepared to work in various environmental conditions, often outdoors, and must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
