About the position

The Water/Waste Water Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Water/Waste Water Treatment Facility. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician will work on various water treatment processes and collaborate with the Environmental group to meet regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the original open basin waste plant, primary wastewater treatment, and secondary wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Operate and maintain multiple demineralizer trains.
  • Handle all water treatment processes, including chemical handling associated with waste treatment facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulatory inspections and testing in collaboration with the Environmental group.
  • Inspect and maintain all laboratory analyzing equipment related to water chemistry processes.
  • Adhere to safety procedures including hot work, confined space, and hazardous energy control (LOTO).
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis of failures.
  • Perform water chemistry analysis on boiler and cooling systems, making adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor and operate the demineralized water system according to OEM and plant procedures.
  • Read, understand, and comply with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs.

  • Attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and interpret drawings.
  • Willingness to work periodic overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with other work groups.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with mechanical equipment.
  • Proficient in Water Chemistry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in water treatment processes.
  • Certification in water treatment or related field.
