About the position
The Water & Wastewater Field Operations Apprentice is an entry-level position responsible for the construction, operation, maintenance, and servicing of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The role involves operating various equipment and tools essential for field operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the construction and maintenance of water distribution systems.
- Operate equipment such as backhoes, air compressors, jackhammers, saws, pumps, and hand tools.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on water and wastewater systems.
- Support experienced technicians in troubleshooting and repairing system issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to prepare for and achieve a Grade IC Wastewater Certification and/or Grade I Water Certification within two years.
- Must obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within two years of hiring.
