About the position

The Water/Wastewater Operator at Woodard & Curran is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves monitoring treatment processes, performing water quality testing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and requires flexibility in scheduling, including on-call duties and potential for overtime. The operator will work closely with project managers and chief operators to maintain efficient plant operations and contribute to the company's mission of providing clean water and a safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary to control their operation.
  • Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards.
  • Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
  • Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintain all necessary records.
  • Perform general maintenance duties of the plant and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Class 'C' Drinking Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license.
  • A dual certification in Water and Wastewater is preferred.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow safety procedures.

Nice-to-haves
