About the position

The City of Breckenridge is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator to perform technical work in maintaining and repairing equipment within the water and wastewater control systems. This role involves monitoring sanitary and storm sewers, responding to emergencies, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The operator will work under the supervision of the Water/Wastewater Foreman and will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater control equipment.
• Monitor and maintain sanitary and storm sewer systems.
• Respond to emergency or after-hour requests related to water and wastewater operations.
• Take and test water samples, adjusting chemical feeders as necessary.
• Maintain and flush sewer lines.
• Locate utility lines as required.
• Haul waste to external facilities.
• Assist other City crews as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Minnesota Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a MN Class C Water and Wastewater License within one year of hire.
• Ability to obtain a MN CDL license with tanker endorsement within one year of hire (training provided by the City).
