About the position

The Municipal Water/Wastewater Project Manager at AECOM will lead and support projects focused on water and wastewater infrastructure primarily in Arizona, while also engaging in national projects. This role involves planning, designing, and preparing plans for various water and wastewater systems, ensuring technical oversight and compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of design staff and team members for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Identify new business opportunities for AECOM and promote its capabilities to clients.
• Participate in project opportunity evaluation and consultant selection.
• Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
• Direct project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitor subcontractors' compliance.
• Prepare project work plans, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicate these to project team members.
• Supervise technical professionals and manage workload and staffing.
• Monitor and report financial status of projects to technical managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Eight (8) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in Arizona or ability to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on municipal projects.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
• Experience working with local clients in the New Mexico region.
• Proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction and public speaking.
