About the position

The Wealth Assistant at Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust plays a crucial role in supporting the business development and service efforts of assigned Advisor representatives within the Wealth Management division. The Wealth Assistant will engage in various sales and service-related tasks, contributing to the overall success of the wealth management team. In this position, the Wealth Assistant will be responsible for cultivating and growing financial planning relationships with customers. This involves executing transactions, conducting research, and preparing financial plans and presentations that meet the specific needs of clients. The role requires strong collaboration with both the bank and wealth management teams, as well as effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Local travel may be necessary to meet with clients or attend relevant meetings, further enhancing the assistant's ability to foster strong client relationships. The Wealth Assistant must comply with all bank policies and procedures, particularly those related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. This ensures that all operations are conducted within the legal framework and that the bank maintains its integrity and reputation in the financial industry. Additionally, the position may involve performing other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall functionality of the wealth management team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the business development and service efforts of assigned Advisor representatives.
  • Assist customers with investment, estate, and general financial planning needs.
  • Execute transactions and conduct research for financial planning purposes.
  • Prepare financial plans and presentations for clients.
  • Cultivate and grow financial planning relationships with customers.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures related to the Bank's BSA/AML policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • Computer literacy required, with an emphasis on using spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to learn and develop proficiency using new programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and executional excellence.
  • Industry-related licenses such as FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 65 or 66 preferred but not required.
