About the position

The Wealth Business Solutions Lead at Northwestern Mutual is responsible for driving business case discovery and consultation to meet business goals. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business partners, product managers, engineers, and designers, to define business requirements and identify gaps. The position requires strong leadership and analytical skills to manage complex requirements across multiple business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with cross-functional teams and vendors to lead requirements gathering.
  • Act as the go-to person for a business area or domain while consulting with junior business analysts.
  • Apply business analytical discipline to identify and document business gaps, current state, and future state.
  • Develop User Stories and acceptance criteria, reviewing the quality of work from junior business analysts.
  • Lead user acceptance testing, including test planning and execution.
  • Support the enterprise by providing business direction and guidance for solutioning in large epics.
  • Participate in business strategy planning and facilitate requirements discovery for large/multiple efforts.
  • Leverage expertise to lead department-level process improvement efforts.
  • Apply project management skills to complete and advance work.
  • May lead a team of Business Analysts and provide consulting or deep business/domain knowledge to junior analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a Business Analyst position with demonstrated success.
  • Experience in a leadership role is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and managing requirements documents, business process modeling, and project lifecycle management.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully working or leading large and highly complex assignments with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex concepts and present actionable insights.
  • Working experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Detail-oriented with proficient verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proven collaboration skills allowing influence without authority at all organizational levels.
  • High degree of personal initiative and motivation.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate decision-making, and resolve conflict effectively.
