About the position

The Wealth Management Associate at Morgan Stanley serves as a vital point of contact for clients, providing a wide range of services related to account servicing, financial planning, and investment portfolios. This role is designed for a self-starter who can effectively combine relationship management with marketing skills and product knowledge to foster long-lasting relationships with clients. Under the guidance of the Financial Advisor or Private Wealth Advisor, the Wealth Management Associate is expected to deliver a consistent and positive client experience, ensuring that all commitments are met in a timely manner. In this position, the Wealth Management Associate will establish and cultivate trusting relationships with both new and existing clients. They will proactively assist clients in understanding their investments and planning strategies, often collaborating with team members to enhance the client experience. The associate will utilize the firm's financial planning tools to analyze complex financial information and lead presentations alongside Financial Advisors. Additionally, they will prepare performance reports and other data for clients, evaluate account performance, and analyze investment portfolio holdings. The role also involves significant business development and operational support responsibilities. The Wealth Management Associate will develop customized presentation materials, manage performance measurements on existing accounts, and collaborate with Financial Advisors to create marketing strategies that attract new clients. They will also implement enhanced service protocols and new procedures to improve client interactions and satisfaction. This position requires a strong understanding of the financial industry, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate trusting relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Assist Financial Advisors in the development and delivery of financial and investment strategies.
  • Lead efforts to organize and enhance the client experience.
  • Utilize financial planning tools to analyze complex financial information and lead presentations.
  • Prepare performance reports and evaluate account performance for clients.
  • Educate clients about specific products and services offered at the firm.
  • Develop presentation materials and proposals to assist Financial Advisors in cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Participate in or conduct client meetings with Financial Advisors.
  • Assist clients with the execution of orders in Brokerage and Advisory accounts.
  • Conduct market and stock research for clients.
  • Design and produce strategy reports and communications for Financial Advisors.
  • Conduct quarterly/annual business performance reviews with Financial Advisors.
  • Manage events, webinars, and seminars in collaboration with Financial Advisors.
  • Develop customized presentation materials and manage performance measurements on existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with Financial Advisors to develop business plans and marketing strategies.
  • Implement enhanced service protocols and communicate new procedures to clients.
  • Identify and implement practice management opportunities across the firm.
  • Coordinate enrollment campaigns for existing clients.
  • Assign work to the Client Service Associate as appropriate.
  • Cultivate relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Provide tailored recommendations to Financial Advisors regarding client situations.
  • Participate in firm initiatives directed by local management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in a relevant field.
  • Four-year college degree or professional certification preferred.
  • Active Series 7 (GS), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA).
  • Knowledge of financial industry and investment products preferred.
  • Strong understanding of compliance rules, regulations, and firm policies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively on a team.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills.
