About the position

The Wealth Management Finance - FP&A Associate role at Morgan Stanley involves supporting the Finance CCAR team by providing timely and insightful analysis and planning. The position requires a motivated self-starter with experience in financial reporting and product control, focusing on P&L and balance sheet reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and collaboration with various business units.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily, monthly, and quarterly P&L and balance sheet reporting.
  • Oversight of month-end general ledger close process and disclosure reporting.
  • Partner with businesses and CFO teams to understand the impacts of various business activities.
  • Operate in the overall execution and continued improvement of control frameworks.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of robust controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory rules.
  • Drive and own ad-hoc projects & analysis as required.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree with Finance and/or Accounting experience required.
  • 3-5 years post-college experience in financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, manage expectations and complete deliverables in a timely manner with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capable of summarizing complex accounting and/or reporting results in succinct, plain English.
  • Strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills including working with cross-functional teams - proven flexibility, adaptability and reliability.
  • Self-starter with exceptional project management skills and sound business judgment.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Expert level knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
