About the position

The Wear Rubber Specialist II at Weir Minerals is responsible for operating press machines to produce rubber components, ensuring quality control, and selecting appropriate materials for various applications. This physically demanding role requires a commitment to safety and the ability to work in a hands-on environment, contributing to the company's mission of sustainable mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Press Machines: Push rubber through the extruder, load it into the mold, add core, close the mold, wait, then pull out the rubber and trim it and stick it on the pallet.
• Material Selection: Select appropriate rubber materials based on the specific requirements of each application.
• Quality Control: Inspect products for quality and consistency, making necessary adjustments to maintain high standards.

Requirements

• Physically demanding role requiring lifting up to 50lbs, bending, squatting, twisting, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blue prints.
• Experience working in a hands-on environment.
