About the position

The Weatherization Auditor at HRDC7 is responsible for conducting field measurements on client homes to identify areas of energy savings. This role involves evaluating the energy efficiency, health, and safety of homes, and may include assisting with the installation of weatherization measures. The position is crucial in helping low-income families achieve economic security and improve their living conditions through energy efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Review weatherization list of eligible clients provided by the State of Montana and contact prospective clients using the State approved priority list guidelines.
  • Evaluate the energy efficiency, health, and safety of a home.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and modeling software to identify areas for energy savings, produce and audit reports, and develop a prioritized scope of work for clients.
  • Document findings on audit forms, including measurements, volumes, and square footage.
  • Input audit forms into the computer for analysis.
  • Compile files for the Program Manager with all necessary forms.
  • Ensure that tools and other inventory assigned to the vehicle are accounted for daily.
  • Follow all established safety protocols and advise the Installation Foreman of all safety concerns.
  • Maintain records of the purchase of materials and supplies for the Weatherization Assistance Program and ensure Standard Work Specifications are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Montana Driver's License and proof of personal automobile insurance.
  • Two years of related work experience and/or training in construction or remodeling.
  • Ability to achieve Mobile Home Weatherization Certification and Home Energy Professional Certification within one year.
  • Knowledge of home construction principles and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, listening, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of home heating systems.
  • Experience in working with low-income and disadvantaged people.
