About the position

The Web/SEO Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, optimization, and continuous improvement of company websites, which are developed in a WordPress environment. This role will help ensure an optimal user experience while implementing SEO best practices and driving organic traffic growth through strategic optimization efforts. The Web/SEO Manager will work closely with paid digital advertising, content, and development team members to enhance website performance, improve search engine rankings, and support business objectives. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of WordPress, technical SEO, web analytics, and digital marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the functionality, maintenance and updates for all company websites within the WordPress environment, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Develop and execute SEO strategies, including keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and link-building initiatives.
  • Manage WordPress plugins, themes, and core updates, ensuring compatibility, security, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with content creators to implement SEO best practices, optimize on-page elements, and ensure content is structured for maximum visibility.
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, keyword rankings, and SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Yoast SEO.
  • Identify and resolve website issues related to indexing, crawlability, site speed, mobile usability, schema markup, and structured data implementation.
  • Ensure website security best practices, manage user roles and permissions, and maintain compliance with accessibility standards (ADA) and data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Implement strategies to improve website conversions through A/B testing, UX enhancements, and landing page optimization.
  • Work closely with marketing, development, and design teams to implement digital strategies, improve website functionality, and enhance user experience.
  • Keep up with the latest WordPress advancements, SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging web technologies to maintain competitive positioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, marketing, information technology or related field required.
  • Solid experience with the WordPress CMS and comfortable working in front end web development.
  • Three or more years’ experience developing, building and maintaining WordPress sites preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience with CSS coding preferred.
