About the position

The Web Application Developer at EBG is responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining websites and internal applications within a dynamic and performance-driven team. This role requires hands-on coding, quality assurance, and the ability to support a scalable structure in a Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP environment. The developer will also be involved in API integration and creation, contributing to both backend and frontend development while ensuring high standards of code quality and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support existing websites and applications.
  • Analyze requirements to produce designs for new development.
  • Collaborate with developers or work independently on projects.
  • Set estimates and expectations for new product development and implement new features while tracking deadlines.
  • Develop, implement, and test web applications.
  • Write clean, well-documented, maintainable, bug-free code and enforce standards and best practices.
  • Perform other support tasks as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of real-world backend and front-end web development experience.
  • Expertise in coding in PHP on a LAMP stack.
  • Experience working with and building APIs.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Ability to write clean, reusable, secure (PCI compliant), well-documented code.
  • Advanced knowledge of Web Standards, Accessibility Standards & browser compatibility.
  • Understanding of User Experience & User Interface importance.
  • Experience in deadline-driven work environments.
  • Experience with MVC (Model View Controller) frameworks.
  • Business Process Understanding.
  • Experience with applicable technologies: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP 7, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, Source Control (SVN/GIT), Web Services, XML, JSON, API integration.

  • Experience with travel integrations (Hotel, Rental car, Cruise, Air).
