About the position

The Web Application Development Manager at Aon Affinity is responsible for overseeing an offshore development team, ensuring the integration of web applications with other business applications, and maintaining the stability and performance of technology infrastructure. This hybrid role allows for a flexible work environment, combining in-office and remote work. The manager will play a crucial role in designing and enhancing web applications, ensuring they meet business needs and security requirements while fostering collaboration across various teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage an offshore development team on a day-to-day basis.
• Collaborate with IT teams for the integration of web applications with other business applications.
• Design, build, and maintain websites and API integrations.
• Ensure technology infrastructure stability and hygiene, owning production assurance.
• Ensure code meets or exceeds performance, stability, resiliency, and security/cyber needs.
• Work closely with IT teams and business partners to confirm application requirements.
• Develop an understanding of the business and products to architect scalable solutions.
• Adapt quickly to changing business needs and influence collaboration across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in a senior software engineer role.
• Experience with Web 2.0 technologies such as Java and JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database schema design.
• Proven ability to communicate and partner with various groups within an organization.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives at once.
• Ability to work independently with accuracy and deliver results in a timely manner.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with jQuery, React.js, AJAX, and AngularJS.
• Experience building and supporting RESTful API web services.
