About the position
The Web Application Development Manager at Aon Affinity is responsible for overseeing an offshore development team, ensuring the integration of web applications with other business applications, and maintaining the stability and security of technology infrastructure. This hybrid role allows for a flexible work environment, combining in-office and remote work. The manager will play a crucial role in designing and building responsive websites and API integrations, while also collaborating with IT teams and business partners to meet application requirements and drive technological improvements.
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of an offshore development team
- Collaborate with IT teams on the integration of web applications with other business applications
- Design, build, and maintain websites and API integrations
- Ensure technology infrastructure stability and hygiene and own production assurance
- Ensure code meets or exceeds performance, stability, resiliency, and security/cyber needs
- Work closely with IT teams and business partners to confirm application requirements
- Develop an understanding of the business and products to help architect scalable solutions
- Ability to change direction quickly based on business need
- Influence, collaborate, and develop strong relationships across the organization and with external clients and suppliers
Requirements
- 5+ years professional experience in a senior software engineer role
- Experience with Web 2.0 technologies such as Java and JavaScript
- Solid understanding of Database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL and relational database schema design
- Proven ability to communicate and partner with various groups within an organization
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives at once
- Ability to work independently with accuracy and deliver results in a timely manner
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with jQuery, React.js, AJAX, and AngularJS
- Experience building and supporting RESTful API web services
