About the position

Seljan Company is seeking a skilled Web Applications Designer to design and maintain external websites for its brands. The role involves utilizing various web development languages to enhance site functionality, ensuring compliance with performance and security standards, and updating site content based on input from the Sales team. The position primarily focuses on web design and upkeep, with some responsibilities related to trade show preparation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the website front-end.
• Create the website architecture.
• Design and manage the website back-end including database and server integration.
• Generate WordPress themes and plugins.
• Conduct website performance tests.
• Troubleshoot content issues.
• Monitor the performance of the live website.
• Assist the Customer Service Specialist with tradeshow preparation.
• Possibly travel with VP of Sales to out of state shows.

Requirements

• Proven work experience with WordPress, 0-2 years required.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
• Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, and SVN.
• Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
• Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
• Good communication skills.
