About the position

GDIT is seeking a Senior WebCenter Specialist/Java Developer to support the U.S. Department of Energy's Office. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining system environments, addressing Cyber Security issues, and architecting solutions using Java, SQL, and Oracle technologies. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to propose new requirements and develop custom tools for document management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain system environments, addressing Cyber Security issues.
  • Assess DOE application modules and source data for various lines of business and architect solutions using Java, SQL, scripting, and Oracle technologies.
  • Collaborate with customers, users, and internal teams to propose new portal/document-sharing requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom tools and applications to support document management, OA/BI reporting, LDAP, and ETL processes.
  • Support business operations for WebCenter/Middleware applications as a team member.
  • Collaborate with technical professionals to investigate and resolve system issues.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and customize Oracle WebCenter products using front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Develop test harnesses/test plans/scenarios.
  • Host work group meetings, perform requirements analysis, and develop functional and technical design documents.
  • Participate in and conduct peer reviews of requirements, design, and code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant discipline with 7 years of relevant experience in ETL and Oracle Analytics; or 8-10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Extensive experience using Oracle Database and Oracle frameworks such as WebCenter Content and WebCenter Portal.
  • Extensive experience in cross-functional, full-lifecycle development, including modeling and prototyping in an MVC architecture.
  • Extensive experience working and troubleshooting in live, clustered environments.
  • Experience with JDBC, PL/SQL, ADF, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, shell scripting, and backend programming technologies.
  • Experience identifying and analyzing business needs for existing applications and guiding innovative solutions.
  • Experience in development, consumption, and debugging of SOAP and REST WebServices.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow for incident management and service request management.
  • Experience with document management design.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware, including WebLogic Console and command-line Scripting Tool (WLST).
  • Experience with Portlet development in WebCenter framework.
