About the position

The Web Designer/Developer role at our rapidly growing furniture and home lifestyle company involves developing and maintaining ecommerce websites, particularly on Shopify, while supporting new Direct to Consumer (D2C) projects. This position requires a blend of technical development skills and graphic design expertise to create visually appealing and user-friendly digital experiences that align with our brand's aesthetic. The role also includes collaboration across departments to enhance our digital marketing efforts and ensure a cohesive brand presence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of our Shopify ecommerce platforms.
  • Design and implement new website features, updates, and integrations to enhance customer experience.
  • Execute D2C initiatives from concept through to live implementation, ensuring alignment with brand vision.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, design, and operations teams to ensure a cohesive brand experience across digital platforms.
  • Translate business needs into functional, well-designed digital assets, from website layouts to graphic elements.
  • Manage website performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement SEO best practices to drive traffic and conversions.
  • Support social media initiatives with design and digital assets to enhance brand presence.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and best practices to ensure our digital offerings remain competitive and innovative.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the company, assisting in various functions as we grow and expand.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Shopify development, with experience in customizing themes, building plugins, and integrating third-party applications.
  • Strong graphic design skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics (proficient in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).
  • Proven track record in ecommerce development, specifically in the home, lifestyle, or furniture industries.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI best practices and responsive design principles.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, design, and operations teams.
  • Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, and performance optimization tools.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to pivot and adapt in a high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A passion for the home and lifestyle space, with a desire to bring innovative ideas to life.
