About the position

The Web Designer/eLearning Developer is responsible for creating and producing technical training courses and educational content for web and eLearning delivery. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts and adherence to FAA Academy Training Solutions Team's standards and guidelines. The position requires strong skills in web development, course design, and graphic creation, ensuring high-quality educational materials are developed and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Develop e-learning content for delivery via a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Edit materials for functionality and operational integrity to ensure error-free operation.
• Plan, analyze, and design e-learning materials using various development applications.
• Develop, revise, and maintain distance-learning training products and courses.
• Create and conceptualize computer graphics and animations for courseware.
• Coordinate with FAA to ensure material accuracy and intent.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement website software code.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to develop site concepts and interface designs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three years of practical computer-related experience in course development using FAA approved software applications.
• Documented formal training in web development/design.
• Experience with SCORM and AICC standards within the last two years.
• Strong computer skills and ability to stay updated on emerging technologies.
• Proficient in writing, editing, and proofreading documents for web applications.
• Experience in developing web interfaces, graphics, and layouts.
• Quality assurance experience in web design projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HTML 5 and database integration.
• Familiarity with Document Object Model of browsers.
• Proficient in using MS Windows and MS Word/Excel applications.
