About the position

The Web Designer position at Honu Services involves providing comprehensive web development, design, hosting, and management services under supervision. The role requires the individual to configure, maintain, and develop ASP.NET Web Forms specifically for NEC applications. The candidate will work with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and related applications, utilizing Visual Studio for development tasks. The position also entails the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and administration of common-user web and portal servers, ensuring that web hosting services are delivered with 100% reliability. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the Web Designer will perform full systems backups weekly and incremental backups daily, ensuring these tasks are completed outside of normal business hours. The role includes configuring operating systems and web applications for common-user servers, as well as implementing a formal web application change management process to deploy and maintain websites, portals, and customized applications. The designer will also be responsible for maintaining and deploying NEC web sites and SharePoint portal sites, ensuring compliance with Section 508 and DoD web policy regulations before publishing any new code or changes. The position requires regular monitoring of systems for disk usage and performance, performing monthly compliance scans, and managing user access controls. The Web Designer will document and maintain current static and dynamic websites or portals using standard programming languages, provide web master services for existing websites, and design and implement new websites and SharePoint portals. The role also involves estimating project timelines and hours required for completion, with all estimates needing approval from a Supervisor or Project Manager before proceeding.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and develop ASP.NET Web Forms for NEC applications
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and all related applications and software
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain, and administer common-user web and portal servers
  • Provide web hosting services with 100% reliability

  • Scan web pages and applications for security and standards compliance
  • Perform monthly scans for compliance and provide a scan results report to the Project Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Monitor systems for disk usage, disk performance, and system performance
  • Manage user access controls and issue new accounts within 2 business days of request
  • Ensure Information Assurance incidents are reported within 2 hours of receipt
  • Document and maintain current static and dynamic web sites or portals using standard programming languages
  • Provide web master services for current websites/pages and web-based applications
  • Design and implement new website[s] and SharePoint portal[s]
  • Provide estimates for each project and hours required for completion of new website[s]/pages and portals

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of HTML, ASP.NET, C#, TFS, CSS, JAVA
  • Knowledge of web development and design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in web design and development and information technology preferred
  • Must possess and maintain an IT II level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002
  • Security+ certification is required
  • Must be a US citizen
