About the position

The Web Design Manager at LSU Online is responsible for overseeing the web design strategy and ensuring the performance and visual integrity of multiple subdomains. This role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance user experience, implementing both front-end and back-end development, and mentoring junior designers. The position plays a crucial role in optimizing digital platforms to meet enrollment goals and maintain a strong brand presence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the web design strategy for all of LSU OCE's subdomains, ensuring consistency and innovation across all web platforms.
• Collaborate with various teams to implement new features, improve user experience, and optimize existing web pages for usability and performance.
• Implement front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end integrations (APIs, databases, CMS management) to enhance user experience.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to a junior landing page designer, developing their technical and creative abilities in web design and UX/UI best practices.
• Conduct regular website performance audits, ensuring content consistency, SEO, and compliance with web accessibility standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of web development experience.
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).

• Experience managing and developing multiple subdomains within a larger digital ecosystem.
• Strong mentorship skills with a proven ability to guide and support junior team members.
• Solid understanding of SEO best practices, web performance optimization, and web analytics tools.
