About the position

The Web Designer Manager at LSU Online is responsible for overseeing the web design strategy and ensuring the performance and visual integrity of multiple digital platforms. This role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance user experience, implementing both front-end and back-end development, and mentoring junior designers. The position plays a crucial role in optimizing web presence to meet enrollment goals and maintain brand consistency across subdomains.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the web design strategy for all of LSU OCE's subdomains, ensuring consistency and innovation across all web platforms.
• Optimize conversion rate performance through proactive troubleshooting and continuous improvement to support enrollment goals.
• Collaborate with IT, Recruitment & Retention, Continuing Education, Marketing, and other teams to improve user experience and optimize existing web pages.
• Implement front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end integrations (APIs, databases, CMS management) to enhance site functionality.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to a junior landing page designer, fostering their technical and creative skills.
• Conduct regular performance audits to ensure content consistency, SEO compliance, and adherence to web accessibility standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of web development experience.
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing and developing multiple subdomains within a larger digital ecosystem.
• Strong mentorship skills with a proven ability to guide and support junior team members.
• Solid understanding of SEO best practices, web performance optimization, and web analytics tools.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar platforms.
