About the position

The Web Designer OPS position at the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade is responsible for managing the agency's external websites and local web applications. The role includes translating content from subject-matter experts into web-ready formats, maintaining digital signage, and ensuring ADA compliance across all platforms. The incumbent will also serve as the SharePoint Administrator, managing permissions and content, and providing training to staff. This is an in-office position that requires collaboration with various stakeholders and vendors to enhance the agency's online presence.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated Webmaster for DOH-Miami-Dade, managing external websites and local web applications.
  • Translate content from subject-matter experts into web-ready formats for content management systems.
  • Update and maintain the agency's digital signage.
  • Create digital content designs such as infographics and flyers.
  • Modify and create the Agency's Annual Report document.
  • Act as the SharePoint Administrator, managing permissions, lists, and document libraries.
  • Post press releases on the agency's external website promptly upon request.
  • Collaborate with vendors and CHD programs on related projects.
  • Ensure ADA compliance on all internal and external websites.
  • Review published content periodically with subject-matter experts.
  • Work with the Web Team to ensure accurate DOH locations on online mapping services.
  • Provide SharePoint training to staff on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Participate in DOH-Miami-Dade's Marketing Committee.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation.
  • Attend Web Manager Training Webinars and relay information to the IT Director.
  • Utilize Siteimprove for accessibility, quality assurance, and SEO improvements.
  • Manage analytics data using Google Analytics and other platforms, sending monthly reports to stakeholders.
  • Assist with graphic design and video editing as requested.
  • Create video and document tutorials for local web applications.

Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of HTML.
  • Experience creating and maintaining SharePoint sites.
  • Advanced understanding of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • Experience in graphic design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public speaking and delivering presentations to large audiences.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.
  • Experience with Cascade CMS.
