About the position

The Web Designer/Project Lead at Forrest T. Jones & Company is responsible for the analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation of web projects for corporate websites. This role ensures that projects align with the company's corporate standards and involves collaboration with various teams to enhance web functionality and user experience. The position requires strong project leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design web projects for corporate websites, ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with the IT web development team to implement HTML5-based pages and best practices.
  • Elicit requirements through interviews and analysis to identify opportunities for web projects.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources to convert high-level information into detailed requirements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to deliver functional and business requirements.
  • Lead the implementation and completion of assigned web projects, managing deliverables and milestones.
  • Produce contemporary UI/UX designs for various digital platforms including websites and social media.
  • Maintain and update websites regularly, ensuring consistency and quality in design.
  • Serve as a liaison between customer community and IT web development team for requirement flow.
  • Suggest new projects that meet company needs and improve site functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Marketing, Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a web designer and web project leader.
  • Strong technical background in web development principles and processes.
  • Expertise in building pages and websites with HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Thorough understanding of UI/UX standards and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of search engine optimization principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with insurance principles and practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (willingness to learn required).
  • Familiarity with interactive design concepts and template-based design for websites.
  • Basic knowledge of source-controlled development environments, such as Visual Studio.
