About the position

The Web Designer - Senior (Special Projects) at Chenega Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) is a pivotal role that involves designing and building web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools. This position is crucial for developing an online and interactive entrance/intake site for all cybersecurity services, which includes various questionnaire forms, subsequent workflows, email notifications, and site redirection to support governance. The role requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise to enhance the organization's online presence and ensure that the web solutions align with the strategic goals of the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing user interface features, site animations, and special effects elements that contribute to the overall user experience. You will work closely with the design group to enhance the look and feel of the organization's online offerings, ensuring that the websites support external communications effectively. Your responsibilities will also include creating aesthetically pleasing landing pages and input forms that provide a dynamic user experience. Additionally, you will develop and deliver comprehensive project plans that encompass communications, implementation, user/admin permission matrices, training, deployment, and sustainment plans. These plans must include milestones, metrics, and criteria to determine success. You will also advise senior management on identified risks and suggest improvements for product implementation and current processes. Capturing and sharing best practice knowledge among teams and the community will be an essential part of your role, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
  • Contribute to the design group's efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization's online offerings.
  • Design websites to support the organization's strategies and goals relative to external communications.
  • Create aesthetically pleasing landing pages and input forms for a dynamic user experience.
  • Develop and deliver a project plan, including communications, implementation, user/admin permission matrix, training, deployment, and sustainment plans.
  • Advise senior management on identified risks and how product implementation and current processes could be improved.
  • Capture and share best practice knowledge among teams and the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's of Arts/Science degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in web design and development.
  • IAT II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M.
  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Hands-on knowledge in Microsoft SharePoint Design and Development.
  • Experience in graphics and design.
  • Knowledge of and experience with web-based technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or other design-related applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with user experience (UX) design principles.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of responsive web design techniques.
