About the position

We are looking for a creative, forward-thinking, and talented Web Designer to join our team at Directors Investment Group. Our Web Designers own our multi-branded design system, innovating and maintaining it while advising and assisting in the designs and front-end concerns of all our platforms, primarily focusing on the mobile platform but also crossing over into web. This role is ideal for a designer who loves to code or a developer with an appreciation for well-designed things. Design Engineering supports the other teams we work with, as their success is our success. We are passionate about modern design and development practices while keeping usability in mind. Our goal is to empower our teams to build the best solutions for their customers with the utmost quality and consistency. For consideration, candidates must include a link to their online portfolio showcasing 3-5 projects along with their resume. Please note that this position is located in Abilene, TX, and is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and maintain our Design System
• Help research and discover the best UX and UI solutions for projects
• Provide front-end support through the Design System component library and UI kit
• Write and manage all front-end code libraries through React-Native with crossover to HTML, CSS, SASS, and Vue
• Communicate front-end efforts with customers, stakeholders, and teammates
• Conduct and participate in usability tests
• Take responsibility for the outcomes of your work
• Passionately demonstrate the value of design and user experience in all work
• Celebrate your successes and the success of others

Requirements

• An online portfolio of recent projects
• General understanding of the relationship between UI and UX
• A keen awareness of the strength of visual elements
• Eager to learn and keep up with design and technology trends
• Committed to high-craft and following processes
• Able to communicate effectively
• Can peacefully balance a diverse workload
• Bachelor's Degree related to visual design, front-end development, or equivalent practical experience

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with React-Native
• Familiarity with usability testing methodologies
• Knowledge of modern design trends
