About the position

The Web Developer and SEO Specialist will be responsible for all backend development of our eCommerce and web properties. This role includes coding and troubleshooting web features like custom elements and third-party tracking, while also optimizing SEO strategies. Executing web audits, managing SEO tasks, and ensuring the site is easily crawlable and well-indexed to improve performance and search engine visibility is vital to this role. This position works within the marketing department and requires a dynamic and coachable individual with excellent numerical ability.

Responsibilities

• Develops, codes, and troubleshoots web functionality including embed media, third-party tracking pixels, custom elements, menu functionality, and more.
• Manages SEO through writing and editing meta data, optimizing written articles and product copy, link management, backlink generation, etc.
• Performs routine web audits and generates reports with relevant data, such as authority scores and search engine metrics.
• Responsible for web crawlability, page indexing, backlink building, and some copywriting when necessary.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong understanding of HTML and CSS
• Strong understanding of third-party SEO tools (such as SEMrush or comparable)
• Responsive web design background required.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Shopify Liquid Strongly Preferred.
