About the position

The front-end Web Developer position at a Healthcare Services company involves creating high-quality web pages, microsites, and user interfaces for web and iOS applications. The role requires collaboration with design teams, back-end developers, and project managers to ensure effective implementation of specifications and recommendations for new technologies. The developer will also manage content through a content management system and ensure the quality of published content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality Web pages, microsites, and user interfaces for Web and iOS applications for members and their patients.
  • Manage content management system workflow, reviewing all content before publishing to the Web.
  • Maintain and update the family of websites.
  • Provide technical (HTML code) review of all HTML mass emails before delivery.
  • Work with the design team, project managers, and back-end Web developer to build and refine graphic designs for websites.
  • Convert raw images and layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/XHTML themes.
  • Determine appropriate information architecture and other technical solutions, making relevant recommendations.
  • Communicate to the project manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays.
  • Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value of service.
  • Analyze website traffic patterns and page performance via Google Analytics.
  • Make recommendations to improve the user experience.
  • Coordinate online advertising program with third-party ad contractor.
  • Work with project managers to conduct regular review and update of sites.
  • Handle production and distribution of email newsletters.

Requirements

  • BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of front-end Web development experience.
  • At least 3 years experience at an agency, consultancy, or within the Internet division of an organization.
  • Experience working within a CMS and providing code review for multiple content providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to hand-code CSS/HTML user experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience developing user interfaces for iOS applications.
  • Experience with WordPress, Bootstrap 3, and Foundation v5.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of CSS3, HTML 5, JQuery, XML, and XHTML.
  • Knowledge of user-centered design and/or user-experience artifacts.
  • Experience with the BrowserCMS open-source Ruby on Rails project is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Helpful to have video editing experience with iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
