About the position

The Web Developer (PHP) position at BranCore Technologies is a contract role focused on enhancing and securing multiple WordPress applications. The developer will work within a dynamic IT division, reporting to the Website Coordinator, and will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable features that improve user experiences across various platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of back-end development and collaboration within an agile team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize scalable, distributed features and solutions for WordPress applications.
• Develop new features in support of business and project requirements.
• Manage vendor support for maintenance and enhancement as needed.
• Work with agile development methodologies and adhere to best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of considerable software implementation experience.
• Proficiency in PHP for back-end development.
• Understanding of WordPress architecture.
• Understanding of SQL for database management.
• Understanding of REST API for web services integration.
• Ability to work as a team member on web development projects end-to-end.
• Proven knowledge of back-end/infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Outstanding communication skills.
