About The Position

The Web Development Specialist at Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL) is responsible for monitoring and enhancing the library's website and mobile app. This role involves managing content, analyzing user experience, and implementing web-related campaigns to support the library's mission and strategic priorities. The specialist collaborates with various teams to optimize digital platforms and ensure effective communication of library services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, media, communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in web development, design, and content management.
  • 2+ years of experience in Wordpress or other content management systems (CMS).
  • 2+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript.
  • 1+ years of web application programming experience.
  • Proficient with Adobe design software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite products.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years' experience in a public library setting.
  • 1+ years' experience integrating external applications into websites.
  • 1+ years' experience cultivating user experience on websites or mobile apps.
  • 1+ years' experience in Project Management.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track analysis of EVPL's website and mobile app.
  • Manage web and app content, ensuring it aligns with the library's mission and brand.
  • Optimize website and apps to enhance user experience.
  • Make data-driven decisions based on web metrics, traffic, and user behaviors.
  • Improve search engine optimization for the library's digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging content for web pages and apps.
  • Develop forms in Google Workspace for the website.
  • Create integrated content and campaigns utilizing various media channels.
  • Maintain design guidelines and brand standards across digital platforms.
  • Assist in planning and administering departmental budgets and contracts.
  • Complete web/app related reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Work with external partners on special projects.
  • Present original ideas to promote library services.
