The Web Editor at Plymouth State University is a vital member of the Communications and Marketing team, responsible for producing sustainable and standard-compliant websites and online communication applications. The Web Editor will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to provide ongoing support, updates, and enhancements for web-based software applications, ensuring a strong focus on user experience, accessibility, and adherence to client specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a web production environment. A solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Drupal, and WordPress is essential, as well as familiarity with development tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Fireworks. The Web Editor must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of UX and UI design fundamentals and have the ability to create responsive sites. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of developing and testing web content that adheres to W3C compliant code and ensures cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility. The role requires effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and priorities. The Web Editor will work closely with the software development team to design, develop, maintain, and support new websites and online communication applications, optimizing architecture, navigation, and content for usability across diverse audiences while adhering to brand and industry standards. Regular testing of website functionality and usability with end users is also a key responsibility, along with troubleshooting and resolving any website-related issues.
