About the position

The Web Graphic Designer at Nexstar Media Group will be responsible for designing and building graphics for nightly newscasts. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and effective communication to produce engaging visual content that enhances storytelling in news broadcasts. The designer will work closely with various teams to conceptualize and execute graphics for daily news and special productions, while also being adaptable to the fast-paced nature of the news environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build graphics for nightly newscasts, including full screen monitor graphics, maps, and informational graphics.
• Collaborate with newscast producers to execute all graphics needed for daily newscasts and special productions.
• Conceptualize, design, and create graphics and animations for sales, promotion, and web as directed.
• Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere, to create graphics.
• Assist with motion design projects independently and collaboratively with Promotions, News, Commercial Production, and Sales staff.
• Communicate effectively with News Management, Producers, and Directors to create designs that support storytelling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere).
• Strong design skills and creativity in graphic design.
• Experience with technical television news production and graphics design.
• Basic computer troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Optional experience with Cinema 4D software is recommended.
• Strong interest in local news.
