About the position

As a Web QA Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of web-based interfaces across various browsers, including Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. Your primary objective will be to create and implement automation scripts that effectively test the functionality of web browser-related workflows. This position requires a deep understanding of web technologies and the ability to design robust automation frameworks that can handle complex testing scenarios. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, reproducing, and isolating bugs using debugging and performance analysis tools. You will report issues following Apple's bug reporting methods and testing guidelines, ensuring that all findings are documented accurately and communicated effectively to the development team. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the user experience by ensuring that web applications function seamlessly across different platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging your strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships. Your ability to break down large workflows into smaller, manageable automation test cases will be essential in streamlining the testing process and improving overall efficiency. This position is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and requires you to work from the office/lab five days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Create new automation for web-based interfaces like Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
  • Design and create automation to test basic functionality of web browser related workflows.
  • Identify, reproduce, and isolate bugs found via debugging and performance analysis tools.
  • Report issues in accordance with Apple bug reporting methods and testing guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automation development in software test engineering.
  • Experience developing software automation for web browser-based workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python, Swift, XCTests, and Selenium.
  • Experience with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
  • Strong communication, written skills, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain inter-departmental relationships.
  • Ability to solve large workflows into smaller automation test cases.
  • Experience with developing web-based automation frameworks as well as results reporting.
  • Experience in testing web browsers.
