About the position

As a Senior Web Software Developer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunities that enhance the operations of the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). This position requires a strong background in web development, where you will be responsible for the design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementation of software code, including HTML, CGI, and JavaScript. You will collaborate with graphic designers and project team members to develop the site concept, interface design, and overall architecture of the website. Your expertise will be essential in integrating web applications with backend databases and deploying large web-based transaction systems using application servers. In this role, you will also be tasked with researching, testing, building, and coordinating the integration of new products according to production and client requirements. A strong instinct for navigation and site design is necessary, as you will be designing, creating, testing, and maintaining software and web-based applications to meet customer needs. You will follow a formal design process, utilizing specifications, data flow diagrams, and established guidelines for software and web application development. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the creation and collection of necessary technology components and integrating them into a cohesive site design, as well as developing visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces with intuitive navigation. Additionally, you will maintain technical documentation related to software and web development, providing support for software process management and configuration management throughout the development lifecycle. A solid understanding of web software development principles, methods, and techniques is required, along with proficiency in one or more web technologies. This position is located on-site at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph for certain roles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement software code for web applications.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and project team members to develop site concepts and interface designs.
  • Integrate web applications with backend databases and deploy large web-based transaction systems.
  • Research, test, build, and coordinate the integration of new products according to production and client requirements.
  • Design, create, test, and maintain software and web-based applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Follow formal design processes using specifications and data flow diagrams for software development.
  • Coordinate the creation and collection of necessary technology components for site design.
  • Develop visually-pleasing, user-friendly interfaces with intuitive navigation.
  • Maintain software and web development technical documentation for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Provide software process management and configuration management throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • 5 years of experience in website design and branding.
  • 5 years of experience in interactive infographics and graphics creation using Adobe Creative Suite or similar software.
  • 5 years of experience in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, ASP, PHP, XML, and Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows Server environments.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment Certification required prior to support on contract.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent required.
