About the position

As a Web Solutions Engineer on the Tools Development and Automation team at Google, you will be responsible for developing and managing solutions that enhance the efficiency of the Global Business Organization. This role involves driving the development of tools, ideating product features, and designing scalable solutions while collaborating with various teams to meet the needs of services teams. You will adhere to Google's software development best practices and work with large datasets to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack web software in Java and TypeScript, including back-end services, data models, and front-end components.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers to enhance core platforms and create applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools.
• Write and review technical documents, including design, development, and revision documents, and review code in compiled or scripted languages.
• Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements, and execute testing, debugging, maintenance, or program updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
• 2 years of experience in full-stack software development.
• Experience with backend languages (e.g., Java, Python, or C++).
• Experience with front end languages (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript).
• Experience working with database technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL).

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of experience designing and optimizing databases.
• Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on project requirements.
• Experience with unit testing, agile software development, and bug and change management systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders to provide technical solutions to business challenges.
