About the position

The Web Solutions Engineer I position at Google involves working within the gTech Users and Products (gUP) team to create and maintain full-stack web applications that enhance user experiences across Google's product ecosystem. The role focuses on developing custom solutions to support various workflows, including supplier management and user feedback systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product optimization and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain full stack web applications using Java, Angular TypeScript, Spanner database, and CSS.
  • Develop on the full stack of projects, including frontend, backend, and database schema design/management.
  • Build unit tests and integration tests to ensure effective and well-tested web applications.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with external stakeholders, researching solutions and seeking help when needed.
  • Utilize agile software techniques to manage delivery timelines and stakeholder expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
  • 2 years of experience in full-stack software development.
  • Experience with front end languages such as TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Experience with backend languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Experience working with database technologies including SQL and NoSQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with project management and technical stakeholder management.
  • Experience with database design and querying, especially with an RDBMS like Spanner, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with API design.
  • Experience with front end frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Experience with web technologies including HTTP, TCP/IP, HTML, CSS, and XML.
