About the position
The WebSphere Commerce Developer role is focused on leveraging advanced technical and functional knowledge of WebSphere Commerce to support retail e-commerce solutions. The position requires extensive experience in developing, deploying, and optimizing applications within the WebSphere Commerce environment, particularly version 8.x. The developer will be responsible for ensuring optimal application performance and contributing to the full lifecycle of commerce projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy applications using WebSphere Commerce (WCS) Version 8.x.
- Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting to optimize application performance.
- Package and deploy Java applications using WebSphere Application Server.
- Test Java and web-based applications, including unit, integration, system, and customer acceptance testing.
- Collaborate on application architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of web-based applications.
- Utilize DB2 for database management and execute SQL queries.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development, specifically with WebSphere Commerce.
- 3-5 years of hands-on development experience in WCS 8.x in the retail e-commerce space.
- Strong knowledge of Java performance tuning and holiday readiness.
- Experience with JVM monitoring and diagnostics for application performance optimization.
- Good understanding of memory management, multi-threading, and thread/connection pooling.
- Proficient in J2EE architecture and development, including Servlets, EJBs, JMS, JSP, web services, XML processing tools, JavaScript, and HTML.
- Deep hands-on experience in WebSphere Commerce subsystems such as Trading, Catalog Management, Order Management, and Member Management.
- Strong understanding of the WCS run-time framework, Struts, front-end components, WCS tag libraries, WCS EJB, and Web Services.
- Experience in application development using WebSphere Commerce and at least 2 full lifecycle Commerce projects.
