About the position

The Web Strategist at Indiana University Bloomington is responsible for developing and executing brand and enrollment marketing strategies to enhance the university's web presence. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective communication of the university's stories and information through its digital platforms. The Web Strategist will manage key university websites and analyze web performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a web strategy informed by business goals in collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Define, manage, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); track and analyze web performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for website content updates, ensuring timely publication.
  • Review and interpret analytics and behavioral data, providing regular reports with actionable insights.
  • Communicate performance metrics, trends, and progress toward KPIs with stakeholders.
  • Identify and analyze site performance issues, developing strategies to address them in collaboration with teams.
  • Independently develop and execute web strategies to advance marketing goals, including data collection and user research.
  • Respond to inquiries from stakeholders regarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop web strategies.
  • Manage the website's information architecture and ensure optimal content placement.
  • Interface with developers to communicate requirements and prioritize new features.
  • Regularly review web performance metrics, identifying issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and lead meetings with stakeholders to present reports on KPIs and strategic insights.
  • Participate in team-based planning to align strategies across projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain web performance metrics related to accessibility and quality.
  • Provide best practice guidance to the IU community managing external websites.
  • Collaborate with designers to create user interfaces that optimize for conversion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Informatics, User Experience, English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and time management skills.
  • Commitment to quality and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience using content management systems.
  • Experience in web strategy, user experience, information architecture, and user research methods.
