About the position

Cognizant is seeking a motivated and energetic Web UI Developer specializing in Angular and React. This role focuses on software modernization, ensuring high performance on both mobile and desktop platforms. The developer will be responsible for writing tested, idiomatic, and documented JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, while coordinating workflows with graphic designers and backend developers to build RESTful APIs. The position is based in Durham, NC, and involves leading the development of web applications, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of web applications using Angular, CSS, HTML, and React.
• Oversee the design and implementation of UI/UX Hybrid solutions to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team.
• Ensure all web applications are compliant with accessibility standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for new features.
• Develop and maintain documentation for code processes and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate into projects.
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Work closely with the QA team to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and timelines.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Angular, CSS, HTML, and React.
• Experience in designing and implementing UI/UX Hybrid solutions.
• Solid understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Education domain is a plus.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies is preferred.
