About the position

The Technical Leader and Advisor role at Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) practice focuses on enhancing digital strategy and user experience for government clients and public higher education institutions. This position involves leading complex projects such as website redesigns and improving digital presence through innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will utilize a human-centered design approach to conduct user research and develop creative web solutions that drive positive user experiences across various digital touchpoints.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large and complex projects including website redesign and social media presence.
  • Utilize a human-centered design approach to conduct user research and improve usability.
  • Identify and develop creative web solutions for various objectives and initiatives.
  • Enhance digital strategy to drive a consistent and positive user experience across digital touchpoints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree.
  • 3+ years of creative design and research experience in a consulting or in-house environment.
  • 1+ year of experience producing and/or overseeing the production of Figma prototypes.
  • 1+ year of experience utilizing WordPress for website design.
  • Experience with modern design tools like Sketch, Axure, Principle, Framer, and InVision.
  • Experience implementing Low Fidelity Concepts.
  • Experience conducting User Interviews, User Surveys, and Journey Mapping.
  • Experience performing User Research (Quantitative/Qualitative) and Usability Testing.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance required for this role.
  • Ability to be on site 100% of the time in McLean, VA.

Nice-to-haves

  • SharePoint administration experience.
  • Ability to code with PHP Basics, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Social Media content creation experience.
  • Experience with Heuristic Evaluation as a usability inspection method.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates experience, storytelling, and design presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to drive the design direction in terms of user interaction and design patterns.
  • Prior experience in reviewing existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop UX recommendations.
