About the position

The Web Application Engineer - Development Lead will be part of the Material Science Lab Planning and Execution group within Translational Medicine at ECLARO's client, a leader in the Biopharmaceutical Industry. This role focuses on developing user interfaces and automating laboratory processes to support drug development programs in various therapeutic areas. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge lab automation technologies and contribute to the implementation of efficient software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop & support front end user interface and efficient back-end features for Python applications.
  • Provide application and admin expertise in server technologies, user interface technologies, and infrastructure architectures.
  • Create applications from detailed specifications using specified programming languages.
  • Code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs.
  • Analyze application requirements and recommend application design.
  • Create detailed project outlines and application design specifications.
  • Conduct quality reviews of code developed by other staff.
  • Design for complex integration with other applications/technologies.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in Python programming.
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as tkinter and Flask.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like git and Docker.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript UI frameworks.
  • 3+ years of experience with C#, C++, MATLAB, Java, .NET, SQL, Visual Basic.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Web Application Engineer within the Biopharma space.
  • Good understanding of database interactions with web tools (Oracle 8-9i).
  • Good understanding of the HTTP request life cycle.
  • Experience with multi-tiered architectures and web services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in robotic liquid handling and programming.
  • Experience with SiteMinder / LDAP integration, jUnit & Ant.
  • Understanding of wet lab pipetting techniques.
