The Project Engineer (Highway & Bridge Construction) plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in various aspects of project execution. This position is designed to ensure that project goals are met through effective planning, communication, organization, implementation, and tracking. The Project Engineer will be responsible for acquiring, organizing, reviewing, and distributing project submittals, which are essential for maintaining project flow and compliance with specifications. Additionally, the role involves maintaining plan drawings and revisions, which are critical for accurate project execution and communication among stakeholders. In this position, the Project Engineer will create and maintain all required project logs, perform material take-offs, and communicate effectively with owners and client representatives. This includes calculating pricing and issuing contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers, which is vital for managing project budgets and timelines. Scheduling subcontractor work and supplier material deliveries is another key responsibility, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned and on track. The Project Engineer must maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Writing reports, business correspondence, and project documents is also a significant part of the role, requiring excellent written communication skills. Presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees is essential for fostering collaboration and ensuring project success.
