About the position

The Vegetation Specialist Foreman is responsible for planning and scheduling resources for Vegetation Maintenance jobs, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards. This role involves managing personnel, equipment, and materials, as well as collaborating with Project Managers to optimize crew scheduling and project timelines. The position requires travel to job sites for resource assessment and project planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all necessary items for crews to begin work each day.
• Supervise all technicians, laborers, specialists, and subcontractors in assigned areas.
• Provide direction to crews regarding scheduling and efficient completion of work.
• Train crews on tasks necessary for project completion and required safety protocols.
• Provide daily feedback and evaluation of performance, and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Manage personnel matters including hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, and recognition.
• Train staff on safety procedures and conduct site visits for compliance.
• Assist the Project Team in developing work plan procedures and provide technical guidance on regulatory compliance.
• Review and approve Material Requisitions (MR) and Purchase Orders (PO) for materials and equipment.
• Review subcontractor's inspection program and reports.
• Conduct workplace inspections and safety assessments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license with a good driving record.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in vegetation operations.
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing people.
• 2 years' experience with production scheduling.
• Valid Herbicide License preferred: Core, Right-of-Way, Aquatic.

Nice-to-haves

• Valid Class A CDL preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
