About the position

The Webmaster and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Nashua School District's website and social media presence. This role ensures that all online content is current, accessible, and reflective of the district's mission and values. The coordinator will engage with the community through social media, promote school events, and enhance the district's online reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update the district's website, ensuring content is accurate and compliant with accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure all information is current, including school calendars and news.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the website operates smoothly.
  • Optimize the website for SEO to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Monitor web traffic and analytics, providing regular reports and insights.
  • Develop and implement training on website content management for staff members.
  • Develop and implement a strategic social media plan across various platforms.
  • Create engaging content for district events and initiatives on social media.
  • Monitor social media channels for community engagement and address questions promptly.
  • Coordinate with schools to highlight achievements and events on social media.
  • Track and report on social media performance, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Web Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing websites and social media platforms, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in web development tools (HTML, CSS, CMS - e.g., WordPress).
  • Experience with social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG compliance).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and edit multimedia content (videos, images).
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO best practices, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of K-12 educational environments or working in a public school district.
