About the position

The Website and Print Content Writer/Editor is responsible for producing, writing, editing, and optimizing content across both digital and print media platforms. Work closely with college stakeholders as well as Marketing department colleagues to produce engaging and accurate content that aligns with brand and project goals. Write, edit, proofread, refine (for content, accuracy, and style) college publications and collateral material - generally, all work processed by the Marketing & Communications Department as well as assorted written material generated college-wide. Serve as content/update editor for college websites, involving constant monitoring and upkeep to ensure the inclusiveness, timeliness, accuracy, clarity, and conformity of information directly representing the college.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update website content using a Content Management System (CMS).
  • Optimize web content for SEO, readability, and engagement.
  • Monitor website performance, updating or revising content based on analytics and user behavior.
  • Conduct keyword research and collaborate with the marketing team to align content with SEO strategies.
  • Work in tandem with Web Developer for development and optimization of the college's web presence.
  • Cover duties and provide support in the absence of Web Developer.
  • Use analytics tools to assess content performance and recommend improvements.
  • Assist toward ensuring that websites are in compliance with government regulations and standards.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and editorial best practices to enhance the college's content strategy.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and Marketing & Communications department colleagues to develop timelines and deliverables for both digital and print projects.
  • Track multiple projects, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, managing feedback loops efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an editor or in a similar role within digital media, print publishing, or a marketing environment.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), photo/graphics software, and knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with print production processes, including layout and design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, etc.).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in basic HTML and CSS for website programming.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO tools, and content optimization platforms.
  • Experience working with a creative team, including graphic designers and content creators.
