About the position

The Loring Group is seeking a Wedding and Events Account Executive to join their team in South San Francisco, CA. This role is pivotal in driving sales and managing high-end catered events, particularly weddings, for a premier catering company known for its exceptional service and culinary excellence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a hands-on approach to event management, ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned and executed. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a sales portfolio that exceeds $1 million in your first year. You will guide clients through the entire event planning process, from initial intake to the final execution of the event. This includes preparing detailed estimates and proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely follow-ups with clients. Your role will also involve collaborating closely with the production team to communicate all aspects of the event plan effectively. As a hands-on leader, you will attend and execute events, acting as a liaison between clients and the team to ensure that every event runs smoothly. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with venues and vendors is crucial, as is having a thorough understanding of venue requirements and permitting processes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to showcase your events and partnerships through social media, highlighting your talents and the company’s offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute $1M+ in sales in year one while maximizing profitability for each event.
  • Guide clients through the event planning process and design in fine detail, from event intake to execution for high-end and high-volume events.
  • Communicate in detail all aspects of the event plan to the production team.
  • Attend, lead, and execute events as a hands-on leader and liaison between the client and the team.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with venues and vendors with an explicit understanding of venues and permitting.
  • Highlight events and partnerships and your talents via social media.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of event and catering sales management for high-end and high-volume events with a majority of experience emphasizing weddings.
  • Thorough knowledge of detailing for off-site catering, including timeline, vendors, venues, staffing, permits, communication with clients, and accurate proposals, documentation, and contracting.
  • Exceptional communication and hospitality skills with peers and leadership, with a desire to collaborate and grow with the team.
  • Hardworking nature, hands-on approach, ownership mentality, and a passion for the hospitality business.
