About the position

The Mill Top is seeking a dedicated and experienced Wedding Event Associate to support our Event Coordinators in the preparation and execution of various events, particularly weddings. This part-time position is essential for ensuring that events run smoothly and meet the high standards expected by our clients. The role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate project needs, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. The associate will be expected to work primarily on weekends, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and may also be required to work late nights as events dictate. In this role, the Wedding Event Associate will serve as a crucial liaison between vendors, guests, family members, the bridal party, and Mill Top staff. This involves overseeing the flow and execution of the event timeline, assisting coordinators in guiding the bridal party down the aisle, and managing the setup and teardown of event spaces. The associate will be responsible for setting up various elements of the event, including linens, decorations, and napkin folding, as well as flipping the room from ceremony to reception. A strong emphasis is placed on providing outstanding customer service and building positive relationships with both staff and clients. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for special event management, a positive attitude, and excellent problem-solving skills. They should be able to work well under pressure, especially in high-stress situations, and be comfortable standing for long periods and climbing stairs as needed. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working as part of a team to create memorable experiences for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between vendors, guests, family, bridal party, and Mill Top staff during events.
  • Oversee the flow and execution of the event timeline.
  • Assist coordinators with getting the bridal party down the aisle.
  • Set up events, including linens, decorations, and napkin folding.
  • Flip the room from ceremony to reception.
  • Tear down and clear the space after an event.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in customer service (1 year preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under high-stress situations.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
  • Must be personable, outgoing, and comfortable speaking in front of large crowds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event management or coordination is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
