About the position

WBZ-TV, the CBS-owned station in Boston, is seeking a passionate and experienced multi-skilled Anchor/Reporter to join their news team. The role requires a dynamic communicator who can handle breaking news, produce original content, and engage with the community through various platforms. The ideal candidate will represent WBZ News at public events and contribute to the station's mission of delivering impactful journalism.

Responsibilities

• Proven success in enterprise reporting and producing compelling stories that engage audiences.
• Report live and recorded, scripted and unscripted, with clarity and confidence.
• Collaborate with personnel to create compelling content and newsworthy stories.
• Maintain a commitment to accuracy and fairness in reporting.
• Write clearly and use video and graphics to illustrate story facts and ideas.
• Build sources, generate story ideas, and participate in editorial meetings.
• Shoot and edit video, utilize iNews rundowns, and coordinate with field crews.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience on-air, preferably in a top 20 market.
• Strong social media skills and ability to contribute on all platforms.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Team player with the ability to work under deadlines and multi-task.
• College degree in Journalism/Communications/Broadcasting preferred or equivalent experience.
