About the position

The Weekend Concierge at The Reserve at Lake Austin plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for residents, families, and visitors. This part-time position involves greeting guests, answering phones, managing correspondence, and providing essential information while ensuring a safe and secure atmosphere. The Concierge is expected to demonstrate compassion and professionalism, contributing to the overall positive experience of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and family members, providing non-confidential information as requested.
  • Answer the telephone promptly using the appropriate greeting for the community.
  • Sort mail and distribute it to appropriate departments.
  • Type and file correspondence and other information forms and materials.
  • Adhere to and interpret resident's rights and personnel policies.
  • Use computers, calculators, copy machines, and postage machines as needed.
  • Express concern and compassion for residents and families.
  • Escort people to resident's suites and other areas as necessary.
  • Keep referral, mailing list, and customer information up-to-date.
  • Assist with data input to appropriate databases.
  • Assist with processing all required information for successful move-ins.
  • Perform day-to-day clerical work connected with the position.
  • Ensure knowledge base remains current regarding aging, assisted living, and dementia-specific care through continuing education.
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down special events.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all team members, residents, and guests.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service and/or receptionist experience preferred.
  • Proficient in basic office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledgeable regarding resident rights and confidentiality.
  • Ability to show sincere compassion towards older adults.
  • Good character and personal integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a senior living environment.
  • Familiarity with assisted living and dementia-specific care.
